Fender Twin Reverb '65 Reissue or Fender Hot Rod Deville?

I recently came across the oppurtunity to trade my Hot Rod Deville for A Twin Reverb '65 Reissue. I'm not sure what I should do, as both are great sounding amps. The Deville has 410 and TR has 212. I play Blues and Classic Rock. Thanks in advance...

    Hello there,

Both are darn good amps. Never heard anyone refer to the Hot Rod DeVille as a practice amp before, But each to his own opinion. Just off hand I would think the DeVille would give you a more bluesy sound.

I don't think you have a wrong choice. Either you end up with a Hot Rod DeVille or a Twin Reverb reissue. Either way, you have a heck of a good amp. I think this just boils down to personal preference. If you like the sound of the Twin better, then trade. If not stick with your DeVille. Which one I like best, or which one the next guy prefers, really does not matter. On this one, only your opinion and preference matters.

I've played through both amps. The Twin 65' has a clean sound that's perfect for jazz or pop guitar music. The Deville has a decent drive for PRACTICING blues or classic rock. Instead of a Deville, I think the Supersonic is much better for overdrive and distortion, but the 65' is one of my favorite amps. There's a reason they reissued it.

I think the Deville is a practice amp, and the 65' Twin Reverb is a studio quality amp.

The Twin Reverb is a good overall amp, very loud and clean. I had two of them and they were just too heavy to haul around. I like the Deluxe Reverb size and weight, and it sounds great.

If you can handle the weight, you should try the twin.

like the other answer, I would want to play through both of them first. but also i would do almost anything for a twin reverb '65 reissue, so if it was me i would go with that, especially for blues

The Twin-Verb has more wattage and better clean tones. But you'll need to get an external overdrive pedal for it, as it has no dirty channel. Both are great amps. I prefer the Twin but it depends on your personal taste.

I would have to play through it first.
