best way to season a non-stick frying pan ?
whats the best way to season a new non stick frying pan ? when I ordered it read the reviews and there was one that went in to detail about how to season it before using , just went back to site that I ordered it from and can't find that review
open to suggestions as to how to season it to make it last longer
it is recommended to season before useing , as in greasing the pan heating it up and after it cools wipe it down
from the review that I saw and couldn't find when I posted this
" It has a basic non-stick surface (the smooth type, not T-fal). Be sure to season it well with cooking oil before the first use so food will not stick. Do not use commercial pan sprays--they will eventually buckle this type of finish. Instead, spray or wipe with cooking oil only "

Wet it, fill it with salt, so the salt sticks to the wet bits.
Heat it up on high for 5-10 minutes. discard the salt, careful it's hot. spray with oil, or a paper towel with oil on it, use tongs cos it's gunner be hot.
Wipe pans out when finished.
If you wash them in detergent or dishwasher you will have to do it again.
Rinse only.

wrong all non-stick cookware needs to be seasoned..... When you buy a new pan if you read the instructions it will say season before use. simple seasoning of non-stick coating is just wipe it with thin coat of cooking oil warm the pan and let it cool ...... wipe it out and it is ready to be used...... I worked in the non-stick coating industry for 27 years and this is a must to get the best non-stick results.
Non-stick coating only needs a thin layer of oil And low heat to open the pores of the coating. Where as Cast Iron is very poorest and needs many coats of oil raised to high heat and cooled to cause the oil to turn to a polymer and cause a hard non-stick surface.

Seasoning could ruin a non-stick frying pan.
Seasoning only makes sense for cast-iron pans.

As far as I know they don't need seasoned. The reason for seasoning cast iron skillets is to keep them from rusting and to form a non-stick type film.
