I care, how can I help - a terminally ill person who refuses to see a Dr?

Instead, this person sits at the computer to learn ways of self-treatment...The illness is getting worse. This is not so much of an illness question as it is a mental health question. In our culture treats illnesses. To go without healthcare .... ? What do you do if this were someone you really cared about?

Update:

We are talking serious stuff here. When a child is denied treatment for a serious illness, the state steps in and the courts. The ill child is removed from the home, put into foster care, and the parents can be taken to jail if the child dies.

So does the family of a seriously ill adult have any less duty?

All you will be able to do is offer emotional support. If the illness will cause the patient to experience lots of pain, encourage them to seek the help of hospice to help keep them comfortable.

You can't force a mentally competent adult to seek treatment.
