Why is Y! Messenger not updating in realtime?
I have the latest version (11). I also noticed this problem in older versions, and also in other IM software (Pidgin, Kopete on ubuntu).
I receive the messages very late, and all at once. From time to time, sent messages appear twice. Also, the contacts list (who is online/offline) updates late. Why could that be? And how can it be fixed?
I am connected to the internet through Wi-Fi from my laptop, if that is any help.
Usually the 'late' problem can mean around 5-10 minutes.
Also, friends from my contact list reported that I keep going online/offline.

Yahoo is old and tired, like my grandma.
It'll get around to it when it feels like it.
