Yes. It depends on how much I have ordered and if its the regular guy or not. I always tip the regular guy more because he is always pleasant and goes out of his way to get our pizzas delivered first (I guess because we tip well). If it is under $20 I tip $5, over $20 - &7.50, $30 - $10... I once had pizza delivered for a party, the total cost was $88 something... I tipped the driver $30

You should tip him based on the service and how good the food is. Pay $1or$2 bucks if it was ok, or $3 to$4 if it was great. Bad, no tip.

Source(s): I know the reasonable amount to pay.

Yes, I give him a buck, but I live really close to the pizza place, so he doesn't have to use too much gas

    Do I tip ?

    Yes.

    How Much ?

    It depends.

    Most Pizza Delivery Places

(Papa Johns, Dominos, Pizza Hut, Numero Uno, Ameche) will deliver for free within a limited radius (like a mile or two) but charge for delivery if it's a longer distance.

(like beyond 3 miles) They'll post that the Delivery charge does not go to the Driver. (iow: Please tip your driver!)

I always tip food and cocktail servers, but I tip nominally when I order Food or Pizza to go, driving it home myself. Like, only a $1 or $2. (sometime not at all, like waiting at Dominos and taking the pizza to go).

I sort of subscribe to the same theory when it comes to Delivery Service. I know gas is expensive, but driving the food to my home doesn't seem as high tip-worthy as when I'm in a restaurant, and it's served to me by a serving staff. (in restaurants I tip at least 20%) Actually, if it's a relatively inexpensive Restaurant as an example, and the meal comes to $32.00, I would probably tip $6 to $8. (a little less if it's lunch or service wasn't great).

If I order 2 Dominos Pizzas (let's say the 2 pizza deal with a 2-liter of Diet Coke) it would be around $20 or so..and I'd usually give the driver $24- $25. It depends if I'm swiping the card vs having to have cash on hand because that will hinder even my best intentions. If I have $22.73 TOTAL in my purse, and I've searched all available couch cushion, tote bag and corners for more money..and that's all Ive got, then that's what it has to be.

    -

If the total was $23.50 and I had $30, I'd say keep the change. But of course, it all depends. I don't get that guilty feeling re: tipping delivery drivers because I would just jump in the car and drive it MYSELF, if I'm going to go all crazy with over-tipping. If it's within a mile or 2, the $2 to $3 is fine.

    -

I'm going to ask the next time I'm at Dominos because they deliver to my office building every day and they'll tell me what people tip like. I'll edit it in if there's any newsflash.

There used to be a great place called PINK DOT, and they would delver ANYTHING: cooked Turkey Dinner for four, 30 lbs of dog food, paper towels, tampons, a cheesecake, Hagan Das Chocolate ice cream, and 2 Snickers bars..phenominally inexpensive! Which is probably why they went out of business. I miss PINK DOT. I used to tip them WELL, it was worth it.

<< if this repeats itself I'm sorry, it won't stop doing this. >> go, driving it home myself. Like, only a $1 or $2. (sometime not at all, like waiting at Dominos and taking the pizza to go).
