Brake lights are stuck on, on my '92 Honda Accord LX?
I really didn't know what to do, so I just unhooked my battery for right now.

The two most likely causes are a stickly brake pedal or brake switch. Check the following:
1. Make sure your brake pedal is returning all the way - pull on it with your hand and see if the brake lights go off. If so, try lubricating the pedal hinge mechanism but you may have a master cylinder problem starting.
2. Check the electrical switch on the brake pedal lever itself, under the dash. Make sure that the plunger or lever is moving freely. If you have the tools you should check this switch to make sure it's working, if not then just replace it because it's cheap.
Oh, and of course make sure your brake fluid is topped off to the proper level.

The plug on the brake pedal has broke and left a hole so the switch stays on.The plug looks like blue crayon search around for pieces. You can swap the rubber plug from the gas pedal.Or you can tape a coin over the hole. The new part is 46505-SA5-000 Pad, Pedal Stopper. If the battery went dead I would get it charged or the alternator may fail. The two plugs on the clutch pedal will also fail and prevent the car from starting. No recall from Honda because quality is job none.
