Technical/Progressive Death Metal bands?

I've been exploring Death Metal, and so far I've listened to
Cannibal Corpse
Death
Arch Angel
Burzum (Might be Black Metal not sure)
Atheist
Opeth

I only liked Death and Atheist. Can you suggest Technical/Progressive Death Metal bands that have the energy of Death Metal but not the brutalness.

In Flames' earlier albums are very good. They pretty much started off the whole melodic death metal genre. If you like metalcore you may like Bring Me The Horizon's debut album, Count Your Blessings and another band, Suicide Silence. Hope this helps!
