In light of the record temperatures around the nation this past July, would it be prudent for the northern?

states to pass legislation encouraging more fossil fuel usage and cows emitting methane and such? I mean, wouldn't it help solve their financial problems if more people decided to move up north to escape the effects of global warming?

Update:

Update 2:

Of course the problem is after global warming comes the ice age, a person can turn up the AC but you ain't stopping a mile thick ice sheet.

edit; I guess that is one way of looking at it but it would suck for mail delivery, you'd have a different address each day.

Why on earth would a greater population density have a positive effect on the economy?

Also, global warming means more flooding and more violent weather, both of which cost huge amounts of money in damages. It does not necessarily mean noticeably hotter summers or warmer winters--it's about global averages throughout the year.
