where to look for Andromeda?

I live in Michigans Thumb near Bay City. Is it possible to see Andromeda this time of year?

Yes! It will be rising from the NE. Look for it after 11pm.

Find the "Great Square" (it is the perfect square under the big triangle that has the extremely bright star)

South of "Casseopia" and East of "The Great Square".

There is a small trapezoid to the East of The Great Square. The eastmost stars of the trapezoid will point North to Andromeda. It will be North about the distance the 2 eastmost stars were apart.

    You can't miss it!

*Above the Great Square is the Summer Triangle. Inside you will find the "Ring" and "Dumbell" Nebulae!

Andromeda rises about 10 pm, it is east of the square of Pegasus. This is easier to spot than Andromeda. Wait till 11 pm or so then Andromeda will have risen enough to be more visible. It is just south of Cassiopeia.

Andromedia is located off of one of the corners of the Great Square if that helps.
