The Jets challenge everyone but themselves?

Rex Ryan challenges the other teams to bet the Patriots, hoping they can eek into the playoffs with a 9-7 (or 8-8 record). Your thoughts?

Considering the Jets were the only team in the NFL to beat the Pats last year outside of the Browns, and did it twice, Rex has the right to say it.

And here we go again with the Jets hate. All last offseason we heard this over and over again. And what happened to the Jets? Well they made their second straight conference championship game with a second year head coach and quarterback both of whom are still developing, the two most important positions in an NFL organization.

The only significant loss they suffered was Braylon Edwards, who was far more a luxury than a key component. I also love how when Braylon was on the Jets, he was a bum with stone hands, but as soon as he leaves he's the reason they'll miss the playoffs. Gotta love that consistence...

If Mark Sanchez can make anywhere near the kind of improvement he made between his rookie and sophomore season, there's no reason they can't beat anybody.

In the future, it helps if you back your positions with, you know, facts, or even opinions. I can say anything I want. "The Civil War ended in 1976." Doesn't make it true.

I can't figure out if it was a sign of respect ot the patriots, or gloating that "the Jets can do it easily, how about someone else?" (not a real quote but i put it under quotes to show thats what he is thinking, not me).

    What are you talking about?

Rex Ryan facetiously issued a challenge to the league, including his own team, to beat the Patriots.

The "challenge" was an attempt at humor, albeit a lame one.

What are you getting all riled about about? It's not like this is the first time Ryan has said something to garner attention.

I don't think the Jets' trash talking is "fun" or "funny". It is very rude and honestly, it is dishonoring the integrity of the sport. And its a publicity stunt in the works. Last year when the lost the AFC title, no one was talking. :P
