Standard overall unit of energy? Joules? BTU?

I am doing an table of energy comparisons between a piece of equipment that runs on electric only, and another that runs on electric and natural gas. I used kwh for the electricity values, CF for the natural gas. What should I convert all values to for my last column of "total energy consumption?"

I appreciate any help!

Kind of the long way but, i would go with joules and...i would also include the total in BTU. More work for you but easier for the reader.
