    Hello Physicsquest, recall the formula.

    n = 1/2L ./ (Mg / m)

    n - frequency ( pth harmonic) If only one loop in between the tied ends, then first harmonic

    If 11 loops then 11th harmonic. = 11 times the fundamental ie oscillator frequency

    L = total length / number of loops

    M - mass attached to the string

    m - linear density of the string.

    I believe a vibration is a traveling wave, and a standing wave is a wave that remains in place because it is the result of waves from opposite directions interacting (constructively and destructively so that the summation vectors give a wave form)

    Don't multiply your value for the circumference by pi; it wasn't the diameter given, it was the circumference (pi*d), so that step is completely unnecessary. So it's (4*910)/(2*.25)
