Should I buy a car if the Carfax showed it had ignition coils replaced 8000 miles ago?

Looking to buy a 2006 Audi S4 with about 63,000 miles on it currently. It's a very nice car, and looks pristine. However, when the dealer showed me the Carfax report, I noticed that everything looked good except the ignition coils were replaced at around 55,000 miles. I initially thought this could have been part of an ignition coil recall that affected some Audis, but as I search it appears that recall did not affect this model. Should this be a point of serious concern purchasing this vehicle? What all could have caused the previous owner to get the coils replaced, and could it have resulted in damage to the engine or other components? I had ignition coil issues with a previous vehicle and it was a bit of a nightmare to get the issue properly diagnosed.

You have Pros and Cons here.

One good thing is that it has had maintenance to correct a problem.

You may consider that they were looking for a different problem, and replaced the coils thinking that it was the problem, but it wasnt.

Also, ignition coils at 55,000 could be a "tune-up" item on that make and model. Do some research for Audi ignition problems.

If coil packs go out it could cause a car to run rough or not at all, but really wouldnt cause major internal damage to an engine or electrical components. These parts are designed to go bad and not damage other parts. Good luck, hope this helps in making your decesion.

U bet it a concern. This cars, this coils can go anytime without warning. Same with the display in dash.. to me it s. A lemon. Red flag is up.

I'd be happy it has new ignition coils.. I think that's coil over setup, so it could be a tune up type thing.

Pay to have it inspected by one of your local State inspection stations. You can't get it registered or licensed in your State until it passes the inspection and the repairs could cost thousands of dollars.
