Well you seem like a beautiful lady as long as you step it up and try to go more out of the way to talk to people, I can't see why you wouldn't make friends. What i recommend you doing is join a recreational sports team, gym cause honestly if you don't click with the ladies who have children at the day-care you just need a different scenario.

You could try local schools.

You could get together with the other mothers more often.

You don't necessarily need friends with children.

But if you do want women friends with just children what I recommend is a church, different day-care, and again recreational clubs have a high number of single mothers who want to find their hobby.

Maybe you could search the internet for some single mum groups near where you live? You could join a fitness class or dance class , I know a few mums who've joined a dance class for mums (all ages) and they've made great friends!

Go to a bar that has live music/ Someone will ask you to dance but dont fall in love with the first one, let others give you a chance to see how you like them.

Have a few drinks in the morning to loosen up before you drop him off and talk to the moms.

Take him to a play-ground and meet other single parents.

Try meetup. Type in meetup.com and look at different groups in your area and you should be able to meet a lot of people soon.
