There was significant debate about the date of the iron age among archaeologists, beginning in the 1980's.
Israel Finkelstein gave rise to the "minimalist" perspective, promoting a late date for the iron age, a position that changed the interpretation of artifacts uncovered from the kingdoms of David and Solomon, essentially rendering these kingdoms to be little more than organized tribes. At one point, many archaeologists considered this lower chronology.
Those days are all but over now, however. The minimalist view has all but been proven completely false, and archaeology is responsible. The kingdoms of David and Solomon did exist, and we can understand the historical evidence -- like the Solomonic Gates at Meggido, Hazor and Gezer -- to be exactly as the Bible describes them: a product of Solomon's building.
So I think the question here is just silly ... it implies an ignorance on the part of Christians over a topic that is of critical importance to Biblical scholarship, and you demonstrate what appears to be complete lack of awareness of the one-time controversy.

is this a extreme question??? The iron age began by using 1000 b.c. or formerly. Jesus existed (walked the earth)from approximately 3 B.C to 30 A.D. (the calendar may well be off and a few argue the dates relatively.) the human beings of that factor, particularly the Romans, have been experienced in metallurgy and used particularly some alloys particularly than a one ingredient steel. yet for the reason that a stable volume of iron grew to become into used, some would say 'late" iron age. observe, formerly His incarnation, Jesus continuously existed. John a million:a million states: a million interior the beginning up grew to become into the observe, and the observe grew to become into with God, and the observe grew to become into God.

Yes, I do. And "Christopher Hitchens" needs to learn some history. The Visigoths toppling the Roman Empire and the outbreaks of Plague is what caused the Dark Ages.

Of course--how else could Jesus have come by the sword if man hadn't worked himself up to tempered steel and tungsten?

Yes... but this do not cancel the truth of the bible... but it makes us question some of our readings of the bible...
Christopher Hitchens A: I guess some atheists are ignorant in history...
