Help. I'm a bit confused with my microwave.?

I am trying to adjust myself with using my new microwave. I want to know the difference between microwave cooking and convection cooking. For example i want to make a loaf of bread for myself. Do i have to use the microwave mode or convection mode? ( or is it that baking can be done for both the modes) Also if i use the convection mode will it do if i do not use a micro safe container? Please help anyone.

Update:

i have another question as well. i have a high rack and a low rack that came with the microwave. what is the difference between the two?

Use the microwave setting for heating foods, cooking/steaming vegetables and poaching fish. The convection setting is for baking and possibly roasting foods. I don't know what the double racks are for except to allow you to put food on both racks. The microwave/convection combo is a fairly new appliance on the market,(at least the American market) so you should have the instruction booklet that came with it. If you got it as a gift or are renting and it was in the apartment, ask the gift giver or landlord for the instruction manual or google the manufacturer and see if you can print it out from the website. If not, call the manufacturer and ask for the instruction manual.

You want to use convection cooking because microwave is the basic option but convection is good for baking because there is a fan to circulate the heat.
