hello..can anyone tell me what is happening in Florida right now?

Tropical storm Emily fell apart after hitting Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic); it is now just a low pressure system with lots of rain.

Florida is a huge state; so I am only answering about east central Florida, the Orlando area. We expect near record high temperatures today, and high humidity, so a Heat Advisory has been issued. This means that it will be very hot and humid this afternoon and care should be taken to avoid heat related illnesses.

There is a small chance of afternoon thunderstorms today, a better chance of scattered thunderstorms tomorrow. These are our typical afternoon thunderstorms for summer, the storms usually happen in the afternoon or early evening. It can rain very hard, some wind gusts, and lots of lightning. The storms rarely last more than an hour or two. It is usually much more comfortable after a storm, it is cooler.
