What do you think about this video?

I've been searching for examples of bad martial arts instructors and believe I have found the worst I've ever seen. This might be something some of the senior people here already know about but it's all new to me. Impressions?

Update:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRVBi4w-8kY

This one. The link must have gotten lost in the ether.

Update 2:

Also, I searched Y!A before I asked and it seems like only Pugpaws2 has any previous answers regarding this person in the video so I decided to post this question. What I really want to know is how common is this type of mentality today, compared to back in the 80's, and does anyone know of any examples of "bad teacher" that top this one?

Update 3:

Yes, I first saw the more controversial video today but decided it was too violent and disturbing to post. I went with this video because it is more in depth on his philosophy and mentality as a teacher and role model. Yamasakar's video of the demonstration at the Crawfish festival is a very good example as well.

I can't decide between this guy and Count Dante & the Black Dragon Society as the worst example of a martial artists.

Update 4:

Link for Count Dante and the Black Dragon Fighting Society. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNFFKQd2DWQ

Well this is the same dojo and instructor that was being investigated concerning the possible death of a mentally challenged individual that wandered into his dojo and this appeared in Yahoo answers quite a time back. The video of that beating appears also in youtube along with this one and its very disturbing.

I would not classify this person as an instructor of martial arts but instead as someone who impersonates a martial arts instructor who is just a very bad person. His actions and behavior lead to a question that was just posted earlier this week and if martial arts instructors have to have any kind of certifications and/or back ground checks or any other special licensing to open a business and teach. Only one state does a background check and I believe that's Ohio or Pennsylvania. Some states have considered it and people like this guy justify those states considering it I think. Otherwise anyone can open a school and I have seen some pretty bad ones in my 40 plus years of doing martial arts.

While my school is my castle so to speak and I reserve the right to teach or not teach someone I still need to conform to certain standards of behavior and decorum, as well as respect the laws that we all have to go by. This guy sounds a ways out there beyond that and from the video of what happened to the mentally challenged person and this one its obvious that he should not be in business.

From what I understand he was being investigated and prosecuted for that and I would be surprised if he is still in business. There were a number of factors including the presence of two off-duty police officers who were students at the time of this beating and its posted below. Based on that alone he is indeed probably the worst representation of a martial arts instructor that I have ever seen.

I don't know anyone like this.

The closest thing I've seen to this and I don't think they really compare is some of the mma community. They have you join their gym not dojo. They immediately put you on the mat and say fight. Pass my guard, but they have taught you how to escape yet. After you take enough losing and tapping out then they will teach you one thing only to repeat the behavior on something different. Then if you question why do they train this way they only come up with my instruct used to beat the crap out of me until I learned. This is how you learn. While I don't agree with that that is the closest, but nowhere near the same as this person foolishness.

    Edit:

    Muaythaiguy:

Please read what I said before making generalized statements like that. I said the closest thing that I have seen(witness) then I included that it doesn't really compare. I in no way have stated nothing negative about mma as a whole. I'm reffering to some of the ones that I have seen. The place wasn't a muaythai place. He was teaching bjj. Do I think all bjj is bad? No! I just do not agree with the training method of beating up a guy over and over before you actually teach them anything. I also stated it is nowhere near the same.

I find it disturbing that you could accuse me of that. I appreciate all forms of martial arts and martial sports. They all have their place. I do not appreciate people being taken advantage of or people being harmed and ridiculed. I don't like the fakes like Dillman or the kiai master. I ignore the fan boys and those with no real applicable knowledge.

    Edit:

    No problem muaythai.

    Theses guys are horrible too

This was only possible because he knew he was immune from the law because the local police were in on it. No different than Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Black Panther voter intimidation case in New England, or New Orleans.

This is not new, but it looks new because some martial artist guy is involved.

EDIT1: Pugpaws answer here is interesting. I didn't know he was so personally involved.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuHW9...

Obviously word had gotten around about his reputation so Billy wasn't going to try to dojo yaburi Pugpaw's place. Heh.

    EDIT2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOtiQ_JF4_o

Something of a "demonstration", you know. To impress the kiddies. This is like... um, McDojo on steroids or something.

EDIT3: If you read every answer here at YA in depth, instead of skimming, you'd learn a lot more.

jwbulldogs: What an ignorant thing to say for a supposedly experienced martial artist. In Muay Thai we don't have the beginners spar for at least 1 year. Yes there are bad gyms, but according to this video, this guy is a KARATE instructor. Does that mean all karate is like that?

jwbulldogs: I misunderstood you. I usually skim through things on Yahoo Answers. Sorry.

hmm the bobby joe thing idk i have gotten pretty tired of reacting to videos like that also the part where I have already seen something from that mans catalog of people being mad at him honestly I think the whole thing is fake at this point just some stupid prank that some jerk made to get people talking(I no longer believe things from old video cameras from the late 80s with questionable content)
