Somebody finally got Keyboard's goat. Congratulations are in order?
Key's target audience was always himself. Maybe it has now become time for him to move away from the public Yahoo Answers to his new forum. But to do that, he needs more members, right?
So what do people think about this, has this finally penetrated Keyboard's aggressive trolling policy of making people here angry? Is Key able to dish it out but can't take 10% of it back when it comes to challenges? Is this forum truly a beneficial endeavor?
When people seek to elevate their own status by talking down at others and ruining their experience, that tells me something. And it's nothing positive.
5 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoWhat do you think people mean when they say their "weapon is an extension of their arm?
I have my own views on the subject but I'd like to see what others think. The weapon can be anything, from firearms, to a rock, to a stick, to a staff, to swords, etc.

the meaning "Peace and Tranquility"? Or do you use the Chinese characters "Safe from Harm"?
3 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoHow have you dealt with shuhari as a student or instructor?
http://blog.iainabernethy.com/?p=261
Iain explains the issue well in the podcast. Were you taught the Shu-Shu-Shu stage progression or were you taught the Shu-Ha-Ri progression? Same applies if you are an instructor and teaches this.
This question was asked before and only I and Possum answered. So I thought it would benefit more people to see this get a little bit wilder view. Since I think a lot of people would benefit by considering this concept in more depth.

2 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoDoes this make WWE a combat style now?
http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/323314/20120403/ww...
Accidents means that the style and the fighters in it, are effective right? So this 14 year old kid could lethally inflict damage on other fighters, since it is called a "combat" sport right?
9 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoWhat is your conception of the sine wave in TKD and katas in karate?
Is the sine wave supposed to teach relaxation or is it a method to create downwards gravity based force in a technique?
Are katas in karate organized patterns for fighting or sparring, or is kata a solo training tool designed for purposes other than teaching fighting patterns that would be better handled by two man kumites?
6 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoHow is it people think it's justified to answer questions using their ego at stake?
The internet caters to things like Keyboard's "personal dislikes". But my question was never asked to benefit or address Keyboard's "personal dislikes". This kind of solipsism, or the idea that the universe revolves around your own personal imagination and ideas, is present in humanity in uncommon numbers.
Anyone got an explanation for this?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am4dt...
Instead of answering the question, some people go off on their own mirage to cater to their own personal goals which derail productive questions and answers. There are numerous examples of this happening here from other people as well, but this one is nice to use since Keyboard openly admits that his answer is not directly useful to the question and only indirectly useful to Keyboard's "large view", a lesson he seeks to teach the rest of us about martial artists.
"@Darth, Directly does it have something to do with his question? No, indirectly? Very much so."
So basically Keyboard thinks that if he shows a martial artist setting himself on fire, he thinks this will teach us a lesson about how the martial artist, Glen Levy, in my question knows or doesn't know inner power? Answers anyone?
12 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoWhere does the power come from?

Is that an example of internal fajing or is it an example of external shock type power?

Also, do you train yourself or your students using these foot stands? How about using height to heighten "adrenaline"?
1 AnswerMartial Arts9 years agoHow is it older people with slower reflexes are often more accurate than young males?
Some people have noted that it becomes hard to hit a "specific" target in the course of the chaos of fighting or violence. So what do you think allows older or more experienced martial artists to have something like 500% greater accuracy than those with less experience?
10 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoWhat have you noticed about similarities between the warmups of different arts?
Like, specifically.

2 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoSpeed in MA: Why is it people do things so quickly?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201204...
I was just wondering if people quickly disliked my answer there because they knew some things.
Did people my answers there because they know it gives it a higher chance to be selected for best answer? Is that really why they are doing it?
Some other things I might have forgotten to include in that answer on martial arts:
Most people will say 50% power or 50% speed but they don't know what they are talking about so they can't explain to a student "how" to do it. Or they're even worse and they say "slow" and nobody knows what they mean. 80% is "slow" by most people's definitions. When I say 10% speed, what I actually mean is if your punch took you 1 second to do normally, then 10% speed means you need to count yourself and it must last At Least 10 seconds. Ten Seconds. If your punch didn't take 5 seconds when it normally takes 1 second, then it's not 50% speed.
That is one way to explain hesitation. That's just an addendum.
7 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoThere are no rules in MMA but there are in the UFC?
If there aren't any rules, then why can't people walk in from the street, taze everybody, and declare themselves the new (regional) champ? If the UFC has rules, does that mean if they don't catch you with the tazer, you win? Or does that mean using a tazer isn't winning the fight?
Isn't it better to talk about the differences in rules rather than claiming that MMA or TMA or Modern Martial Arts have "no rules"?
7 AnswersMartial Arts9 years agoWould a person that focuses on strength and speed believe in internal strikes if they felt it?
Even if the strike was based upon chi?
Obvious evidence for this either way would be if you saw someone get hit by one and then he started believing. It does not necessarily have to be explained in a way that people get it. Just that they start to believe it is possible after they feel the hit.
