Do you think Ip Man 2008 made Wing Chun into a bunch of McDojos like ATA, TKD, mass produced karate?

I'm not actively involved with any of the Wing Chun schools. But I have been observing them since the 1970's. The number of schools in the U.S.A. currently makes me wonder how many of the instructors are really qualified instructors...? I am aware that there is also the issue of the different lineages of Wing Chun. Back in the 1970's and 1980's there was heated conflict between two of the major Wing Chun instructors. Since the 1980's I have not heard much about this. but the number of Wing Chun schools continues to grow at a rate that makes me skeptical of anyone claiming to teach legitimate Wing Chun. Here in the Atlanta area I'm told that Francis Fong has a school. I was going to check it out. But then one of my students checked it out and came to tell me that it costs $400 a month to join. And, you are only allowed one or two classes a month for that. They won't be seeing me there at that price.

Hard to tell, Wing Chun schools have been calling other lineages frauds for a long time before 2008.

Not yet; however it could happen. I see signs of it happening.

Yes, but the mcdojo wing chun movement is not as significant right now. I predict that in several years we are gonna be seeing a LOT of crappy wing chun schools.
