Do you know about Broca's area in the brain? What does it do?
I know it has to do with language, but what?

Broca's area is the common name for the Inferior frontal gyrus, supplied blood/oxygen from the middle cerebral artery.
This region of the brain is responsible for SPEECH PRODUCTION. This is the part of the brain that communicates with the mouth and the tongue to articulate speech. This is not to be confused with Wernicke's area, which is located posterior to Broca's area and is responsible for STORING VOCABULARY for speech. This is where the word lexicon is stored, transmitted across the arcuate fasciculus to Broca's area to produce speech.
As Paul Broca discovered, damage to this area of the brain will result in an inability to form intelligible speech (yet they will still have the ability to understand language fully).

I've asked this five times today, four of which were reported and deleted. I guess I made an enemy, a cowardly, Phelps-wannabe enemy. Fundamentalist Christians will still say just because you have the urge doesn't make it right, then try to draw parallels between homosexuality and murderers or something that doesn't follow. The level of hatred from some of these answers is scary. Where's the love?
