How much money do you predict Wikipedia will ask for this year?

I believe that the strategic plan that empress Sue Gardner signed off on put the 2011-12 fundraising target at $30 million. The KPMG audit from two years ago indicated that it only takes about $2.5 million to keep the Wikimedia Foundation projects' sites up and running. Given some growth in the database and traffic, perhaps that number is up to $3.5 million now.

This is important for all American taxpayers to understand, because every tax-exempt dollar that is wasted on Wikipedia fundraising could have been better spent on a more efficient non-profit cause, or could have been tallied as taxable income and helped to address the federal deficit problem.

There's a reason why Charity Navigator gives the Wikimedia Foundation only ONE STAR (out of 4) in terms of "organizational efficiency". Any non-profit that spends on program services only 43 cents of every dollar received should be ashamed.

Stupid WP puts hurdles in the way of would-be contributors.

Last year they asked for $16 million, so I think because of inflation they'll ask for $18 million.

Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Read WP:CRYSTAL before you think of posting another heretical question like that.

If you aren't planning to donate anything, it shouldn't even matter to you what Wikipedia will ask for. I don't know why you people from Wikipedia Review are so bothered by Wikipedia's fundraising, because you don't have to donate one cent.
