New proposals re Disability Living Allowance.?
I read that those under 16 or over 65 on DLA are not to be reassessed in 2013 for the new benefit replacing DLA. More so with regard to older people will it not be a sheer waste of time if for example someone is 62, 63, 64 with a life time or indefinite award, previously been through DWP medicals etc. to reasses when the government state a main reason for this benefit change is to get people in to work?

This government has not got its head screwed on regarding DLA. They are withdrawing the mobility component from people in care homes. Do they think they will teleport themselves when they need to go anywhere?

that is partly correct. they are still looking as to asses under 16yrs & over 65yr olds. a decision hasn't yet been made on that. there will also be no middle rate for dla, only higher & lower components. there will also be no lifetime or indefinite awards. everyone will be reassessed every couple of years.
at present when you reached 65 dla stopped but i believe you could get income support to help. when pip comes in it doesn't state what you can claim after 65 if anything. everyone needs to e,mail their mp with their concerns. i've done it but we all need to do it. its no good moaning after. to late then.
