Minimum age requirement for an AMA pro license in motocross racing is 16 years of age:

AMA rule book: Motocross License Criteria - section 1.3 - subsection (a).

Riders start in C class then as they improve go to B. Once they are consistently up front of races they go to A, finally to PRO. Some never get beyond a certain level and some rise through the grades very fast.
