I pledge allegience to the flag of the United States of America?

and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

How many of us will post this all over the internet?

I don't care about your politics, your religion, your lifestyle choices, your age, your gender, your social or financial status, your level of education, your ethnicity, or your whatever. If you're an American, a citizen of the United States, post it. Now. All over the place.

Will you do it?

Update:

This is a call to United States citizens to take a stand.

You can say I love America.

You can say God bless America.

You can say Proud to be an American.

You can This is MY country, land that I love.

You can say We the People of the United States.

So many seem to be bashing their own home. How does that help? None of us are altogether pleased with things right now. Shall we tear each other apart over it or stick together and prove to ourselves that none of us need stand alone?

Stand together or fall apart.

Disagree with me personally if you choose; that's your right. Think about the origins of that right and all other rights before you bash the United States of America.

Please allow me to explain that your not FORCED to say the Pledge of Allegiance at any time and that it is a way to show your patriotism to country in which you live. It's a country that others pay all they have to be smuggled into, where they risk their lives to gain entry, or dream of just getting the opportunity to gain citizenship here. I wonder if we told them that all that would be needed is to happily recite the pledge of allegiance once a day, how many would say No thanks? I wonder if we can trade them for those of you that think your too good to show some patriotism.

Another freedom is approximately to hit the pooper thus of unlawful immigration and it is devasting results on our society and tradition. Clearly on this situation, and in my brain correctly, within the USA of yesteryear, academics could instruct cultural range through honoring one of a kind cultures both every day, weekly or per 30 days, anything. Good tactic to enable all Americans to embody multiculturalism and ethnic range. This is what it must be and what the framers of the constituion had in brain, I could suppose. Enter the unlawful iimmigrant populace (most likely from Mexico) who weren't sworn to alegiance of America, didn't comply with be taught English and cetainly exhibit no proof of being legislation abiding residents. So now, this style of delicate father or mother careworn (or might La Raza or MECHA be worried?) un considerate academics into doing a Mexican pledge of allegiance to Mexico to "exhibit the types how". An act simply over the threshold of what must be the allowable case. Bad due to the fact that it was once performed as American has now not been vigilant approximately protective what we preserve so expensive right here ...our Freedoms. Good due to the fact that any person down that a manner, jumped up and screamed ENOUGH! This is flawed and over the road. Stop it and get again to motive and propriety. That's what Democracy and American must be approximately and the way we must do matters. We ought to look after ourselves through traumatic propriety and now not permitting illegality. I undoubtedly wish that a authorized motion could be directed at that institution and this main issue to ship a transparent message to mum and dad, academics and directors, approximately what America can/must and can enable and what it WILL NOT ALLOW! Let us be transparent approximately who and what we're. Where we stand. That line within the sand over there's our border ...do not pass it with out our permission.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Marxist Communist in the 1800's to sell flags and encourage loyalty to the state. Under God was added in the 50's in an attempt to show that we were better than the godless Soviets.

I am in the US Army. I am a Libertarian. Indoctrination such as the Pledge is the most un-American piece of drivel I have ever seen. It is a shame that we start our children off with mandated recitations at such a young age. Instead of encouraging free thinking and development, we are showing them that blind loyalty and obedience to the state is what is best.

No. I have nothing against the pledge, except that other nations laugh at us for forcing our youngest children, some too young to even understand the words they are repeating, to stand and recite a daily loyalty oath to God and the US government, like the Nazis used to do. If we taught them to sing the national anthem instead, they would at least learn a skill that is useful at ball games.

the pledge of allegiance is fascist, and oppressive. america claims to be a free country, yet it forces its students to pledge. americans of all ages are subjected to nationalism. this is not freedom. its brain washing, and alot like what nazi germany did to its subjects. i have no reason to pledge the flag of the usa, or repeat some nonsensical propaganda that the corrupt u.s govt imposes on its people. the u.s has been a rogue state since its very begining, after the british savages massacred the native americans and robbed their land. the u.s needs to be divided into separate countries, and investigated by a world court

I'm with you Sheila. It would appear that illiterate should also be in your list. No one seemed to read the "to the republic for which it stands". I can tell you that none of them has ever been in the military. We know what we're pledging.

No, this violates the YA Terms of Services. And chain SPAM perpetuated by 'friends' has ruined Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace with this junk.

Sorry, I don't believe in pledging my allegience to a piece of cloth whether it's painted yellow, green, and orange or red, white and blue.

Why would you want to do that? Do you know that a flag is just a piece of material? Not something to be worshipped.
