Why do girls date and even marry men who they know have major problems?

You ave asked the $1 million question. That is one question I have always tried to figure out and according to my experiences, what it all boils down to is insecurity and loneliness. When a woman is insecure and lonely, that makes her a prey for abusers, men with major problems, etc...

I have a close family member who is in that same position. She is a graduate with a master in special needs, yet she is living with an alcoholic, license suspended, owes more child support than the U.S. to China, lazy and to top it all off, the most unattractive man you can imagine, dirty looking. My friend has a beautiful face but she is overweight, in her case, that is her insecurity and believes no other man will want to be with her, this thinking puts an invisible blind fold that does not allow her to see the truth.

I wish I knew. I honestly don't care who dates whom. But when they make the decision to have babies as lightly as one would to decide to get a puppy, then I have a problem with it. I recall talking to a young woman not long ago. She and her BF had just found out she' was intentionally pregnant. I asked her if she and her BF were considering marriage. Her answer was "Oh God, no! He's irresponsible and immature-- not husband material. Anyway, I am sooo not ready for that kind of commitment!" And yet she wasn't blinking an eye at having a baby with him.

People have issues......and when they do they're not looking at the whole person they're attracted to.

They're looking at how cute he is, how much he claims to love them, how he's the only one who understands them....blah, blah, blah.

If people (men & women) got themselves mentally healthy before getting seriously involved with someone there would be less divorce and broken relationships.

because they have major problems themselves . LOW self esteem think they cant do better ...

Because they had sh1tty parents who did nothing to raise them correctly, and they are f****** stupid.

Because they have money.
