Not always. If someone is telling the truth that someone else just won the lottery, for instance, I DOUBT the person receiving the news and the money would feel bad.

On the other hand, I'm always amused when people ask questions they already know the answers to yet get angry when the person asked tells the truth. (The prime example is "Does this dress make me look fat?")

Not always true. Sure somethings have been sugar coated too much and the truth about somethings can be harsh and unpleasant but other times it can be nice. Like butterfly's are first made from something ugly (though I think they are very pretty as catapilers), chubby kids can get skinner, what can be considered as ugly can grow into something beautiful.
