Have you ever gotten hit on by guys in passing cars?

So I was walking down this street with a bunch of passing cars today & I got beeped at like three times. And someone whistled at me. They all gave me a once over. It was scary because I'm only 15. I don't know why they felt the need to do that kind of stuff... I was only wearing a nike hat, a tank top, a rolled up striped unbuttoned shirt over it and some dark skinny jeans with chucks. And i only have A cups and a tiny butt so idk I'm just confused o_O It made me feel self conscious. So has this ever happened to you & what were you wearing/how is your body type? Are guys out there really that lecherous?

NO CHRISTINE MARIE it is not a compliment to be seen as a piece of meat. Your a person not breasts and ***.

It started for me when I was about 11, Im now 19 and its still happening

Yeah its called street harassment. Its a serious problem, there are many different websites dedicated to it.for example

    http://www.stopstreetharassment.org/blog/

Its a serious problem. I really hate how it feels when guys do that stuff to me. I feel like my body isnt really mine, it is just merchandise for them to imagine fvcking. Its not a nice feeling. And it makes me very angry.

My experiences with street harassment vary from being 11 and men shouting about my boobs (I got them early and hated it), to a man shouting at me to get in his van, to various teenage boys telling me to blow them. My worst day it happened with I think 12 guys on my way to college. 12 separate things happened. In like 20 minutes! While cycling.

These guys are why I cycle everywhere. Walking is too slow, I fool myself into thinking if I go fast enough they wont notice me.

You have a small cup size and ***? That has NOTHING to do with it. You ask about body type, Body type is irrelevant, there is still a person in that body, a person who deserves their respect goddamn it. And your clothes dont make a difference. You will still be called a slut and whore and be beeped at and treated like a piece of meat as you are a girl, no matter what you wear.

And yes, guys are mostly pervs.

But one thing is when Im out with guy friends it doesnt really happen. I suspect something messed up is in their head like oh she is HIS so I wont shout at her. But even so, at least you dont have to put up with it.

There is good videos on street harassment on youtube too, Use the internet to find out more stories and you will see that pretty much every girl, of every body type, goes through this. Sorry to break the news :(

Personally I cant wait till Im in my 50s and Ill hopefully be under the radar

Don't be too afraid. If they were honking/whistling they're probably no older than 19 years of age. Only young immature guys do that sort of thing. Personally, I find it disrespectful. I've noticed that most of the time guys do that in groups and are usually low class. Don't let men treat you like a piece of meat. It is flattering to be noticed, but it is not flattering to be "hollered at".

That doesn't happen to me so much outside because I drive (I'm a 21 year old college student), but around campus or at work sometimes, I get the casual "hey girl what's up" or "how you doing" or "damn baby". I always give guys who do this to me a dirty look. If a stranger wants to approach me the least they can do is introduce themselves to me. I mean come on - really?

Anyway, it is rather common for guys in groups to hit on young women/girls.

it depends on the kind of guys they are, their are some real morons, back when i was an electrical apprentice i worked on a job site that was near a high school and high school girls would walk by every day, a good many of the guys screamed out the window. (only happened in the country the behavior is found upon workers in the city in fear of charges for sexual harassment), i could not understand how they were attracted to kids i was 21 at the time all i could do when i saw those kids was see my sister who was 16 at the time.

STAY away from guys who do that, you dont know who or what they will do, when you yourselfs get into your 20's you look at highschool students as kids, just the way you yourself look at elementary school kids, the ones who yelled at you are sick *****.

Yeah, It's happened a few times. The first was in Italy, I was walking back to the hotel and they literally slowed the car and stuck their hands out. Disgusting, right? Another time was when I was walking home from a party the following morning, and I was hungover and looking really unattractive in joggers and one of my brother's huge tops, and they offered me a "lift home". Because I'm not an idiot, i refused the offer, lol.

Not all guys are like that, only the knobbheads :)

I'm 17 but I work in the city (boston) and everyday I walk to the train and to work from south station I ALWAYS get creepy guys slowing down next to me and trying to talk to me, wave at me, whistle, compliment my outfit and just STARE. Yes it can be creepy but I take it as a compliment and I always smile back at them cuz I think its hilarious. Some guys will come up to me and be like your so beautiful and it always catches me off guard cuz I have a low self esteem. I'm 5'9" I have B cups and a big *** (I play ice hockey and thats what it does to me, my thighs are a size 4 but my *** is size 6-8 so you can get an idea of how unproportional and unexpexting it is for a girl like me to have what my brothers call a ghetto booty) :)

Yes and I was so disgusted and disturbed because guys like that do not have class yelling out of the window at women like we are dogs or something. A real gentlemen would walk up to you and talk.

I'm a skinny minny too and guys like that are so stay away from those losers! You're only 15 and they are hitting on you.

    Good luck girly

It doesn't matter what your really wearing when your out walking and young guys and grown men are going you yell and whistle at you, just be careful because there is a lot of sex offenders out there yes even in your neighborhood I'm not trying to scare you but there is a lot of people out there that can not be trusted

its happened to me hella times and i wear skinny jeans, shirt, vans/ sandals, and etc but them again i have 40dd's and an butt and im kinda fit so that could be my issue..

..... a few weeks ago me and my friend were walking to taco bell its right down the street and going there these guys passed and honked and moved on we thought they turned around and like stopped right next to us trying to get at us and we acted like we were on the phone and we said no when they asked for our numbers cuz they were ugly then the way back a guy turned around the block to try and get my number.... in that case yes some guys are and some guys just honk and keep Driving

Yeah, all the time. I don't see the point of whistling and yelling out the windows especially as the car is moving away and you're never going to see them again, but maybe it gives them some sort of manly pride. Haha I have no idea. It's really annoying, actually, sometimes creeps me out.

Happens all the time! I've walked to school looking vile many times and guys feel the need to beep on the way past! Take it as a compliment! No point analysing what it could mean, some guys are just leachy so you might as well make it positive! :)
