I live in nevada but i want to buy a car in a cali. dealership would I have to pay state taxes in both states?
In Nevada the state taxes are lower hither the cars are about twice the price as the cars in California. Also there's a lot more variety in cali. The car would be purchased from a dealer not an owner.

california and nevada are called reciprocal states. the F&I department at the dealership has the option to collect NV sales tax and remit it to the state for you. The other option is to pay no tax when you get the car, but pay it when you register in NV

You would paid sale tax according to the county the car will be registered to. There will be a state transfer fee always. Around $271 last time I have checked.

while you're procuring it from a broking in Utah, you will pay Utah sales tax. while you're procuring it from a private broking in Utah, you will pay Nevada sales tax once you sign up the motor vehicle.
