I live in Massachusetts, and my family is moving to Maine, I am only 16 years old and I was thinking if I want to stay in Massachusetts am I aloud to live with a friend? Also is there paper work my friends parents need to sign in order to be my legal guardians, because, for example, If I needed a note to not go to school, I need a legal guardian to write me one, will my friends parents be the new guardians? Someone help :P Thanks!

You will most definitely need to get them to sign paperwork saying that they are now liable AND responsible for you and your actions until you are 18. They are your guardians until you are 18. You're very fortunate that your friends parent are going to take all responsibility of you. Most parents wouldn't do that.
