Mass Effect 2 No one gets killed?

I am wondering because I need to make some uprgrades to the ship before I go into the Omega 4 relay and I do not have enough resources. If I go to other planets will the missing crew be killed when I am getting materials? And please no spoilers. Thank you

No side missions, people get killed. Landing on planets DO count as a mission. In fact, anything that would cause you to autosave does. So don't leave the ship and you'll be fine.

Mining does NOT endanger the crew. Any landing DOES. So if you accidentally come across an anomaly that gives you the option to land on an unknown world, don't land! Simply probing planets won't have an effect.

Scanning planets doesn't count as conducting missions, so you are safe. You can acquire all the minerals you need to upgrade your ship's defenses, but don't do ANY major or side missions. They count as the Commander biding time. You can also land on planets and stations to visit stores, as they also do not count as missions.

You can still get materials just don't land anywhere.
