what kind of movies are available for stream on Netfilx? (new or old)?
like if a movie is released on DVD is it available for stream the same day?
i thought so, thanks for the info ^-^
definitely won't get it. just looking for the most efficient way to get movies w/o waiting for them in the mail or paying for each one individually.

netflix has a great list of movies available, but a lot of newer releases, if they even have them, are going to be dvd only. It takes a couple months usually for a movie to be released for streaming.

There is usually at least a one month lag from the release date of a DVD to it's appearance on Netflix. Also, don't expect to get it right away even though you can see and reserve it. It is first come first serve for a limited number of disks, so you may not get it immediately even after it is available. Movies for streaming are more likely to be older (more than a 6 months to a year) unless it was a straight-to-DVD release. The selection of streaming movies is still not nearly as large as the DVD collection, so prepare to be disappointed if you are looking for current releases
