what does it mean when they say that they are declaring marshal law?

I have heard the term all of my life and I always just thought it meant when like the National Guard was going to govern all of the public actions which was over seen by the President of the US. Was I anywhere near right?

    Merriam-Webster says:

The law administered by military forces that is invoked by a government in an emergency when the civilian law enforcement agencies are unable to maintain public order and safety.

your rights as a cittizen are suspended...

emergancy war time powers are enacted.

the millitary and goverment are now in controle... you will not have your ussaul protections

it is a very very bad sign.......

the miliary is basicly in controle... and most jobs would come to at leats a partial halt

many schools might close for a time

many jobs might stop for a time

even in america.. we really dont know how bad it would be if they decleared martial law.

i know they were considering it if the legilsators didnt sign the patritoc act into law... becuase of the panic

It basically means all your rights are on hold. If the police want to arrest you and detain you, they can do that. If they want to impose a dusk till dawn curfew, they can. They have the guns. You cannot sue them or complain or anything else.

(and yes, it's actually martial law)
