Why has the Winter Classic not been announced yet? (+Bonus)?

It's usually announced in June. I know the Flyers and Rangers are on the schedule for January 2nd and are supposed to be in it, but why hasn't the NHL officially announced this yet?

BQ - Would you like to see the high stick rule moved back to the shoulder? It's not that using the crossbar is too low, it's just that it's a bad reference point for video review as opposed to the shoulder where there would be solid evidence everytime.

Because we always know everything before the NHL thinks they're making a big announcement. It'll happen soon enough.

BQ: No because it's unfair due to differing heights. Brian Gionta would have to swat pucks in traffic whereas Zdeno Chara can knock a puck in from six and a half feet in the air.

It hasn't officialy been announced yet, but the flyers and rangers have a game on monday january 2nd at 1:00pm. So basically thats enough reason to say it is in Philly.

BQ- No, players are all different heights so a taller players shoulders are often times above the head of the shorter players. If that was the rule then players could go around hitting people in the face with their stick and technically not be breaking any rules.

I think it hasnt been announced because they dont know either if they have the ballpark they are going to play in or the network it will be aired on.

BQ: No i like the crossbar rule, even though its kinda pointless to redirect a puck if its gonna go in already.

It will be soon. It irritates me so much that yet again another team that had one 2 years ago gets it again. The NHL loves to play favorites though. You can expect it soon.

BQ: No, it is a good rule.
