Why was Rosalia Lombardo removed from her preservation container?
I just watched a documentary by National Geographic titled "The Girl in the Glass Casket" about a 2 yr old girl who died in 1920 and was embalmed and placed in a Sicilian catacomb. The documentary was about the efforts to preserve to all the mummies in the catacombs - but especially Rosalia as she looks so almost lifelike. The scientists created a special hermetically sealed enclosed container (with glass top so she is still visible) that would enable her be preserved for another 100 years (so they said). Afterwards I was looking up additional information about her online and I read that she has been removed from the special preservation environment. What I could not find anywhere was why they did this. Was it a religious thing? Did the box not work? Are they considering placing her back in it? I mean why would you remove something as precious as the only perfect mummy to watch it decay? I don't understand this...

Rosalia Lombardo's remains and the mummies of two other children were returned to their original locations within the catacombs.
The special hermetically sealed container was used while scientists were researching the method used to mummify her body. It was allowed to be done because the body was beginning to show signs of decomposure. Prior to this work, the mummy could not even been seen through the dirty glass.
The Capuchin Monastery Catacombs are a tourist attraction. The Rosalia Lombardo mummy could not be viewed at all until recently and preservation of the mummy will performed as necessary.

Dave Lombardo On a technical note Dave is far better than Lars is. I doubt at Lars' old age he will ever even come close to being as technical as Dave. I believe in the old expression Never say Never but I highly doubt Lars will ever be on the same platform of technicality. However, Lars' drum work on all early Metallica up to Justice is Epic in the fact that his style is perfect for Metallica. In fact I can't imagine any other drummer for them in those times. Certainly not Dave I mean yeah Dave would have got the drumming done for sure but It wouldn't sound the same or be the same. Personally I am more of a Paul Bostaph fan than either one of those drummers. Paul is a very underrated drummer. I say that in review that many feel that both Dave and Lars are overrated but certainly you can't say the same for Paul. His drumming for Forbidden is equally epic. Killer drummer Paul is for sure
