Audio Y cable splitter has audio but no mic?
I'm plugging it into the front audio jack and I get audio. I tried plugging it in the rear mic jack, and there is no audio or mic. How do I work the splitter so that I get audio and mic?
Thanks for your answer, I was trying to get my headset to work. Because my front audio jack is broken so getting a splitter seemed like a good idea. The rear audio jack is already populated by my speakers so...

you cannot have 2 types of connections in just 1 splitter. if you plug it into a mic jack (which by the way is a "mono" and won't work as you expected) you will only get microphone. if you plug it into the audio jack, you will only get audio. most people use it so they don't have to remove the earphones while their regular speakers are plugged in (and/or vice versa).
maybe we can help you out more if you tell us exactly what it is that you want to accomplish. what device do you plan to connect to your PC that requires both audio and mic?
