Should I call Animal Control?

I just saw a skunk in our yard. Its broad daylight. Do you think it has rabies? Should I call?

Just because he's out & about during the day doesn't mean he's rabid. Just leave him alone. If you're uneasy about it being around, then pay attention for it. Odds are, it's not rabid and it's just awake for some reason. Unless he's trying to attack other animals and foaming at the mouth, I don't see anything to be worried about. Just remember, he is a skunk and he will spray you if threatened!

Oh, and If he lingers in your yard for a number of days and he's a threat to spraying your pets and your family, then I'd call Animal Control. They won't kill or euthanize him, they'll most likely just relocate him to somewhere where there's pleny of woods and a suitable home for a skunk.

No. Just leave it alone. I'm sure it'll move on. We used to get skunks in our yard all the time and at any time of day. They leave after a little bit.

Not unless you live in the middle of a city and there aren't any woods within five miles.. He probably just came out looking for some food... Just leave him alone incase he does have rabbies though, you never know although he probably doesn't you still don't want to get bit, or sprayed for that matter.

The question is "did he see you?". Some breeds of mutant skunk can give you rabies just by looking at you. Best you slit his throat with a silver blade.
