Has Atlas started to shrug?

The news that floating libertarian cities are moving beyond the conceptual stage has me thinking a lot about Galt's Gulch (Google it). While many libertarians have decried the erosion of our freedoms for years, the unfortunate reality is that there hasn't been anywhere to go that was really an improvement. In the near future there will be. Are we going to see the ambitious, the successful, and the wealthy pull up stakes and move beyond the reach of American statism? And if we do, can America survive the loss of those who pay the vast majority of its taxes? Will a libertarian outlet destroy America? Has Atlas started to shrug?

He's shrugging from the weight of all of his vast wealth and gluttony.... While the family's of people who actually work for a living, starve.

We'd be better off if we just got rid of the free-loaders who want to exploit this country, don't want to pay taxes, destroy our environment, poison our children, and then ship our jobs overseas, while providing no real benefit to society.

I got news for you, billionaire bankers, insurance execs, corporate execs that sweep in gut company's and then jump out making millions... these people PROVIDE NOTHING to us. It's the prevention of their kind of greed and "free market" BS that created the prosperity and strong middle class that we that knew here up until it began to erode in the 80's, as we kicked off 3 decades of cutting taxes on the rich, eliminating tariff's and de-regulating business... and now here we are, no regulation, with massive wealth at the top, along with eroding wages and high unemployment.

Do us all a favor, instead of blabbing about how bad off we'll all be, for once will you nuts just put your money where your mouth is, and leave.

They can try all they like, we will just impose a hefty exit tax as they attempt to move their wealth out of the country. We will probably use the same rate that they were taxed at when Eisenhower was in office, 75%-90%.

“Two novels can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other involves orcs.”

    Cant remember who said that

Rand fetishists can get on their knees and suckle John Galt all they want.

I'll continue to stick with the American people. Good riddance to you.

What's Galt going to do when he has no one left to build his engine?

  • Why wait for floating islands, Delta is ready when you are, call your travel agent and you can be living in your dream society (Nigeria) tomorrow.
