Harry has no idea what he is talking about, JG is good but Cyma is widely considered to be one of the best entry-level companies out there. They have very solid internals, generally have a good ROF and FPS out of the box, and a lot of their cheaper models are still made with full wood and metal, which JG definitely doesn't do.

That being said, it depends on the style you like. All AEGs perform about equally (i.e. a tiny submachine gun will fire as fast and hard as a light machine gun) until you get into the really expensive stuff. If you want an AK style airsoft gun, the best you can get is a Echo 1 Wolverine. They are slightly above your $150 budget but worth saving for. If you can't wait, a Cyma or DBoys AK is very solid, and you can find a full wood / metal one for around $120-140 on sites such as airsoftgi. (Don't order from Airsplat or Evikes, they are terrible).

If you want an M4 style, my recommendation is the G&G Combat Machine, which is super solid and around $140. A lot of custom M4s get built around a G&G base. JG are also good here.

For MP5s, Tokyo Marui makes the best still, though they are a little pricier. I believe Echo 1 and Cyma both make a few MP5s though, and they are both good companies.
