Why are people upset that Obama's bus was made in Canada, when the Canadians buy a lot of our vehicles?

They just like to spew nonsense on Y/A. The same people will not have a problem when the GOP nominee is also riding around the country in the other bus.

It is not Obama's bus. The Secret Service ordered these two highly secure buses for politicians and dignitaries to use.

It's just another manufactured scandal by one side of the political spectrum in an attempt to mobilize their base and get people going against Obama. George W. Bush's 2004 tour bus was also made in Canada, but how often will they tell you that?

It should be noted though, that you are somewhat incorrect. Canada does buy lots of American cars, but a lot of them are manufactured in Canada. The Canadian province of Ontario produces more automobiles then any other jurisdiction in North America (not just GM and Ford, but companies like Toyota and Honda also have plants there). Parts for many key GM products are made by Magna International, a Canadian company.

People are angry about the Canadian bus because they don't realize how many buses in the US are from Canada. There are two top notch bus builders in one city in Canada, and most of their product goes to the US.

The Million dollar price tag is nothing to complain about either really. This is man that is the single most tempting target to the enemies of the US. That bus has all manner of technology and protection to allow him to be completely secure.

Seems like a mistake to allow a foreign country, even an insignificant one like Canda, to have a complete understanding of the vehicle, including any weaknesses in it's defenses

Prevost the motor coach manufacturer based in Quebec stated they just made the shell and they sold it to Hemphill Brothers Coach Co., which is based in Nashville, Tenn.

They were not made for Obama they were made for the Secret service

Maybe it has something to do with the hundreds of billions of dollars of tax payer money that he gave to US car companies. Just a guess.

Because it was customized in Canada, Doesn't Obama watch PIMP MY RIDE? they are located in LOS ANGELES! Those guys coulda made it too! and they would probably do it for free as a patriotic duty
