How does your church or spiritual community respond when a same-sex couple shows up to worship with you?

Gay or Lesbian couples can find a variety of reactions when they show up at a new church, synagogue, mosque, etc.

How does your own spiritual community respond when a same-sex couple (with or without children) joins you for worship?

People always say how Church people don't accept homosexuals, when really it's the other way around. Homosexuals complain about how the Church is so strict yaddyaddy, but if you came to my Church, you'd be welcomed. Of course being homosexual is sexually immoral, but Jesus says come as you are, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

I've never actually seen a same sex couple even have the guts to enter a church, their whole "Religion doesn't accept who I am" mentality blocks them from even thinking of it. Anyways, my Church wouldn't care, granted some people would, but God wouldn't think differently of it. Be blessed.

  • We had a same sex couple attend our church for awhile. I did not think that they would be welcomed (the pastor was a staunch conservative.) Oddly enough, life went on as usual. The couple came to church, ate with us and so forth. It really wasn't a big issue. The Pastor's stance was that the Word of God and the Holy Spirit convict of sin and that his ONLY job was to preach the Word and to leave it up to the Holy Spirit to deal with the congregation.

    I'm an atheist.

Generally at our church when we're worshiping our god, Atheornis, and gay couples show up, we're perfectly fine with it.

I've never had a gay person show up at my Church. If one did I'm sure they'd be welcome to investigate. I'm pretty sure they'd need to deal with their same sex attraction before being baptized.
