Can one eye go blind if isolated to total darkness?

I know that it takes months for the light cones/receptors in the eyes to die from lack of activity, but is it possible to isolate this to just one eye? Can one of two eyes go blind if subject to total darkness while the other is not?

It's possible. Think about if you were to sew 1 eye shut and leave the other open it will happen
