  • I've been told I look like I'm about to cry?

Last time I remember being told this was when a kid in my junior high class asked me if I was okay or something along those lines. I was fine, my eyes weren't watery, and I had my everyday poker face on--not a real poker face, I mean the "poker face" meme. My real poker face is terrible :/

It never bothered me, but I've looked at myself in the mirror a few times and wondered if it's just because my eyes have a stronger eyeshine effect(though nowhere near as strong as glowing cat eyes), or my tear ducts are always full, but not to the point where I can feel the fluid welling up. Thoughts?

  • What technology is absent from the Walking Dead?

There's not going to be a best answer for this question, in case whoever makes what would be the best answer misses something.

Robert Kirkman hasn't set an exact date for when the Walking Dead started, but he has set the year for 2003. Since the first issue came out on October 8th, I'm using that as the time setting for a "choose your adventure" game, and it's based off the Walking Dead. I haven't decided on a location, but I'm leaning towards my state, since it's familiar to me.

Obviously if they're using an alternate timeline, they can't have the technology we have in 2012, since civilization breaks down, and all that chewy goodness. For this reason, I want you fine ladies and gentlemen to brainstorm and come up with common, modern conveniences that were invented after October 8, 2003.

Be sure to look at all the answers and refresh the page to look at new ones before you post what you come up with. Oh, and makes and models don't count.

I'll start us off with something easy: Facebook was invented in 2004.

That means all they had was Myspace, and that site launched two months before the dead came back to life.

Just one more: Youtube was launched in 2005.

They didn't have youtube! What could be worse!?

And don't just look up every website, or just websites. Any scrap of technology, but it has to be commonly known and used, in other words, had a significant impact on peoples' daily lives.

Note: In case anybody's curious, I put this under "Television" because I assume the TV adaptation is commonly known among fans of the comic and fans of the TV show alike. And fans of the game.

  • is there an antonym for the word "Diva"?

Someone else asked this question, but meant they wanted to know what the masculine word as opposed to the feminine one. The person with the best answer gave them "unnoticed, indistinguishable" as their answer before editing it to add "Diva"(and that got her answer chosen).

I want to know an antonym in the form of a noun.

  • Mass Effect: avoided Ashley Williams in ME1, but expressed interest in ME2(spoilers!)?

Okay, to start off, my Shepard character is a man. That statement is not an implication to anything beyond this question or the video game I'm asking about.

I avoided Ashley in Mass Effect 1(talking to her right after Captain Anderson debriefs you for Eden Prime doesn't count towards romance, FYI) until I talked to her about Kaidan's death. The second time I talked to Liara T'Soni, when she asks if me and Ashley were together and if I'm interested in her(T'Soni), I chose to tell her that the thing with Ash was "private," and that I just wanted to be friends with Liara.

In Mass Effect 2, when I had the opportunity to talk to Kelly about my reunion with Ashley on Horizon, I told her I missed Ashley, and that I did have strong feelings for her(the option I clicked was "yes," and what Shepard really says is something along the lines of "we've been through a lot together".

I bought Mass Effect 3 today, but have not started it with this profile(I'll be playing through with my "renegade douche bag" profile first).

I'm not at all confused about what happens before Mass Effect 3. What I want to know is while I denied the build up of rapport in ME1 with Ash, and expressing interest in her in ME2, will it be possible to start a romance with her in ME3, when no other romantic interests are pursued?

  • Warhammer question, can ork spores cause infection?

I'm not big on Warhammer, but I've been interested in the lore and started with the wikipedia article on the Orks. Since Orks reproduce asexually via spores emitted from their corpses, is it possible for another living life form to fall victim to infection by the spores? If so, what are the details? Include symptoms, rate of infection, and prevention methods--assuming any of that information has been officially made known.

  • Who was the Roman emperor during the battle of Corinth?

Frankly, there seems to be a huge gap between about 500 BC to 27 AD, when Julius Caesar takes the throne, in which the rulers of Rome--if there were any during that timeline at all--simply aren't named. C'mon, who were they?

  • Can one eye go blind if isolated to total darkness?

I know that it takes months for the light cones/receptors in the eyes to die from lack of activity, but is it possible to isolate this to just one eye? Can one of two eyes go blind if subject to total darkness while the other is not?

  • What animal has the highest visual acuity?

I've been trying to find it. They say that the hawk has a very high visual acuity, i.e. newspaper two football fields away illustration, but they don't say exactly what it is.

I'm looking for the fraction form. For example, the fraction representing nominal, or average, vision in humans is 20/20. Anyone have any idea what a hawk's is?

  • What kind of relative is considered unrelated?

An oxymoron to say the least. I just happened to wonder: What is required for a person to be unrelated to you? We have cousins twice removed, thrice removed up and down the tree, but how far horizontally must someone be on your family tree to be considered an "un"-relative?
