Once and for all: is it Artist - Song or Song - Artist?

It's gotta be artist then song. The other way really pisses me off -- I'm really OCD about it. Am I right or am I wrong?

It makes sense to put the artist first, because you're narrowing the field or possibilities to one artist, and then narrowing the possibilities down further to a specific song. The other way can be confusing.

If Pistons answers this question, I bet he'll tell me to go outside.

Update:

@Dick B, what do you mean?

Update 2:

I mean when you're naming a song. Like if someone says, name the first song that comes up on your iPod, I might put "Nas - Hero" or something.

I put it as: Artist - Song

I don't put featured artists, and I capitalize all the words.

I'm extremely OCD about it in my iTunes library as well.

*considers making Pistons troll accounts to tell you to go outside*

When listing songs I always try to go Artist - Song

I'll be willing to bet my iTunes library is the cleanest out of anyone's here. Say there's a remix of Put Some Money on It featuring The Lox. It's titled Put Some Money on It (feat. The Lox) [Remix]

    In Y!A it's always:

    Song - Artist

...when I am constructing a list or whatnot. I do it the other way around in a sentence sometimes or if it behooves me to put the artist first. Yeah behooves me.

    Artist - Song.

    e.g I'm listening to: J Dilla - Hi not Hi - J Dilla..doesn't look right..

It actually bugs me when people go: Song - Artist..I'm OCD about that sh*t too lol.

I always put it Artist - Song.

Doesn't really matter much to me though.

    In what context?

    I'm a little confused.

@Turkey M - When and where do people put "artist - song" or "song - artist"?

EDIT: I don't know. I look at my music by album.

    I don't really care actually.

I go back and forth on it.

@Dick B, when you're saying song names do you write it like

    Be - Common

    or

    Common - Be

    Song - Artist

It really doesn't matter though. That's just what I see most often.
