Macbook Pro 13 vs 15 in?

I'm going to be a freshman in college. i plan to do internet surfing, Facebook, Skype, some gaming (sims, guild wars, etc) and just stuff like that. i was wondering if the 15in macbook pro is better or will the 13in suffice? Also, if i wanted to run Skype, Facebook, and word at the same time, which one will take it better? Thanks in advance!

Update:

how about thoughts on the iPad? Also, is the 15in significantly faster?

I would say firstly go for the Macbook Pro, not the iPad. The iPad is NOT a laptop substitute. You cannot fully multitask or run all the programs that you may need for college on a iPad.

Now for the Macbook Pro, the Performance between the 13 Inch Model and the 15 Inch Model is nearly the same, but the Macbook Pro 13 Inch has the Intel HD 3400 Graphics, which is a cheap integrated graphics card, which is not exactly the best for gaming, or HD Video Editing. In terms of Multitasking Skype and Word and Facebook at the same time, the Macbook Pro 15 Inch may be faster, but the Macbook Pro 13 Inch will be just about the same.

I would say if you do not do any Video Editing or want to do Heavy Gaming (Sims 3 is a pretty light game), then you would be fine with the Macbook Pro 13 Inch Model. You could always get a iPod Touch for the Money you save, and the 13 Inch Model is lighter and easier to carry around.

    Hope this helps :)

Coming from a computer proprietor who additionally had a fifteen" HP Pavilion & now very own a 13" MacBook professional, i might say the two the 13 or 15 is effective. i might propose the 15" yet once you're finding to save money the 13" may well be effective besides. I have been given used to it without delay & it has the comparable decision as my 15" did so photos look greater constructive on it.

Everything is about the same on both. For video intensive tasks, such as game playing or HD video, the 15" is much better. The 13" has that cheapo Intel graphics only. The 15" has AMD Radeon HD 6490M (2.0 GHz model) or AMD Radeon HD 6750M (2.2 GHz).

for you usage, i think the 13 will be plenty. i just bought the 15 inch one this week. i work with photos and video and so far, nothing i've done has even made the CPU work to capacity. the 15 inch is extremely fast and powerful. the 13 inch is still faster than most laptops available today and will be plenty for your tasks.

13 is ok, but the 15 is so much better.
