Why are HP computers still being sold?

The line is as dead as a Oldsmobile . HP is walking away from it.

Maybe Asus or MSI will buy it.

They don't make a whole bunch of money off the laptops since they're buying a nearly assembled unit from Compal. I don't see how they could make much money off the budget desktops either. On top of that, there are so many different laptops on the market. HP has one of the weakest reputations out of all of the laptop names.

Without a doubt, most of their PC based sales come from budget desktops and laptops. You know something is wrong when you go to the store and a HP laptop is always $100 cheaper than a Dell or Toshiba.

You would think that since both Asus and MSI make their own boards and laptops that these brands could profit more.

HP is not walking away just yet, they are trying to sell the entire division.
