Can you replace melted butter for oil in a coffee cake?

All i have is olive oil i don't think that will taste good.

    Yes! You'd be surprised at some of the substitutions I have come upon. I have a chocolate cake recipe that calls for mayonnaise in place of oil/butter, and it's great.

    Yes and no. Oil will actually make it more moist, which can some times be needed in coffee cakes. But when it comes to olive oil, it can make it taste weird.

    yes, the oil or fat is there to make the cake moist. just remember to add the same amount of melted butter as you would oil.

    You can.

    Just make sure you use unsalted butter, otherwise you will have to adjust the salt in the recipe.

    Besides, unsalted butter often is higher quality than salted.

    yes and you really don't have to melt the butter just make sure its soft but if you melt it let it cool some first.
