Is it possible MALTHOUSE could be CAPTAINED out come finals time?

Is the Malthouse worse nightmare yet to come? With current captain Nick Maxwell a chance to miss the 2012 finals, and former captain Buckley due to replace Malthouse in 2012, all the media drongos are currently thinking up conspiracy theories to help scuttle the pies final hopes, but would hate, not having thought of this ! West Coast, Malthouse's former club where he won 2 flags are sitting pretty for a crack at the 2011 premiership and are lead by 2 of his " former captains" senior coach John Worsfold and assistant coach Scott Burns (Collingwood captain 2008). Imagine the media frenzy for headlines, if Malthouse and Collingwood, failed in the grand final against West Coast . It couldn't happen could it. Collingwood is the last club to rise from last (1976) to a grand final the following year (1977) they failed to win, but the next team to do it could ? West Coast finished last in 2010, when Malthouse last won a flag.

I doubt West Coast could beat Collingwood in Melb on the big stage Deedubya ? But I suppose stranger things have happened in final games. As you say Malthouse would be absolutely devasted if it did eventuate, fortunately for him Collingwood have a lot of depth in it's reserve stock, but losing someone like Nick Maxwell would be unsettling to the team. Time will tell, I suppose ?

Deedubya was sitting on a bench at the mall.

A young man walked up to the bench and sat down. He had spiked hair all different colors - green, red, orange, blue, and yellow.

Deedubya just stared. The young man said " What's the matter old timer, never done anything wild in your life ? "

Deedubya replied,"Got drunk once and had sex with a parrot. I was just

wondering if you were my son." ?

Well i'm not one for looking to far ahead. because anything can happen in footy. but you would have to assume that the Eagles will now finnish in 4th spot. which means that the Pies will face off against the Eagles in the first semi.

The Collingwood F.C is so used to this kind of hog wash from the media. that they will treat it like water off a ducks back. the main thing here is for the supporters to take no notice of it as well.

As for whether these 2 teams play each other in the grand final is any ones guess. but one of them is going to have to do it the hard way. for the reason that i gave in the first part of the answer.

    cheers.

Certainly wold be an interesting outcome and one i would probably take about for some time but its highly unlikely, the path is so tough they will need to either beat the pies or cats away before the grandfinal to get a berth

I doubt it, but the Eagles are probably the biggest dark horse in the 8.

I don't say the Eagles couldn't reach the GF, depends on the draw, but you know if the Magpies don't win this one, it's one of the biggest upsets in recent history.

There are no secrets here, you have to catch them on an off day. I say unlikely.
