Christians: If Jesus loves everyone..?
..why didn't he use his miraculous powers to
prevent John the Baptist from being beheaded?
"the biggest suffering was the greatest act of love."
Crucifixion, a temporary bit of a torment in hell, resurrection..and he's future king of the world. Hows that "the biggest suffering" or the "greatest act of love"?
"John's destination was all ready sealed!"
Sounds like predestination, not free will.
"John was not going to live forever in the flesh."
Hows that any excuse for Jesus not intervening to save, as theology goes, his own
cousin? If I have the power to prevent my cousins from being beheaded, I'd use it.
What makes spitting in some random blind persons eyes (supposedly one of Jesus'
many miracles) so they can see more important than stopping a beheading?
"if it wasn't John the Baptist's time to leave this earth, He would not have left!"
You talk like he left of his own volition, the text shows otherwise - he was
forced into an execution that Jesus neither attended nor prevented.
"John was on the bad end of somebody's choice to have John beheaded."
Okay than, fine, why didn't Jesus stop this "somebody" if he truly cares for his cousin?
"had he done that, he would not be able to hold anyone accountable for their unjust actions."
Why not? If he's all-powerful, accountability is a non-issue.
"he would have taken away our free agency, which would have destroyed the whole Gospel plan."
Why would that require taking away our "free agency",
and how would that destroy the "Gospel plan"?
"Why would he not?"
Well if the Scriptures are anything to go by, he didn't do a damned thing to save John from being beheaded - yet things like walking on water or whatever are somehow more important?

Jesus could have prevented them from beheading John, and he could have prevented all kinds of unjust killings throughout the past 6000+ years if he had wanted too. But had he done that, he would not be able to hold anyone accountable for their unjust actions. And he would have taken away our free agency, which would have destroyed the whole Gospel plan. We must be able to choose good over evil, otherwise God would be an unjust God. And if we do not have the ability to choose to do evil or good, God could not punish us for doing evil. And that would have nullified the whole reason for this earth experience.

Jesus loves us so much he gave us free will. John was on the bad end of somebody's choice to have John beheaded.

Because Jesus said that we Christians would be persecuted for His name. And He wasn't asking to much because He went through the greatest persecution of all for us. And also if it wasn't John the Baptist's time to leave this earth, He would not have left!
Hope that helps!

according to Christians, God doesn't intervene. If Jesus prevented John from being beheaded, then that would violate the free will of the executioners.
God can intervene PSYCHOLOGICALLY, but we still have the free will to either obey or not obey

To show John the Baptist's faith to the world. Or something like that.

And why didn't Christ "jump off the Cross to save Himself?"
And yet the biggest suffering was the greatest act of love.

John's destination was all ready sealed! It wouldn't make any sense to change that!

Dead men can never love or protect anyone. Leave alone a fictitious man coming to protect someone.
