Has Pakistan ever held a national referendum on..?
..a vote by The People, recorded polling, anything - agreeing that their country should be used as a host for foreign intelligence and military entities to train terrorists (Taliban, mujahideen, Al Qaeda) that would later be blamed on Pakistan for supposedly "harboring" as if the country did it all by itself and wasn't used as a host for larger geopolitical objectives of Washington, Tel Aviv, or London?
If so, I'd love any citations of such.

3 AnswersMedia & Journalism10 years agoReligious "doublethink"?
"To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself. That was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink."~Description of doublethink in Nineteen Eighty-Four
Is it Orwellian doublethink when a church or any other religious authority makes two conflicting claims too it's adherents that they must "attend regularly", but simultaneously "aren't required to attend to declared 'True Christians/Muslims/Jews/whatever'"? If it isn't, how would you define these inconsistent claims?

I'm told I need 24 from a community college before the University I'm about to join will officially take me in for my online classes (since it's out of state, I won't be joining them on campus).
Whats the best way for me to find out the closest community college
and would the high school I graduated from be able to assist?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)10 years agoWhy does the government use 9/11 as..?
..the ultimatum gauge for determining the level of terrorism and attempted terrorism?
If a nuclear weapon is "the ultimate terrorist weapon", why not examine nuclear weapons tests instead of using 9/11 as an excuse to violate the sovereignty of other countries in the "hunt for terrorists" or "suspected terrorists" - and respectively - the sovereignty of U.S. citizens via the constant extension of the "Patriot Act" (which includes Continuity of Government (CoG) - constantly referring back to 9/11 for no good explanation at all)?
This sounds more like an excuse to harm civilians
globally than it does to genuinely stop terrorism.

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoRamadan: Does the Quran agree with the Bible..?
..about how to treat the physically impaired?
"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto Aaron, saying,
Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookback, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God. He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy. Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.
And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel." Leviticus (21:16,24)

4 AnswersRamadan10 years agoRamadan: what would you rate this book compared to the Quran itself..?
..regarding things like the supplied definition for Arabic words and phrases and things like that?
Example: " "revelation" (al-kitab)" (pg. 56, Al-Baqarah)
http://www.scribd.com/doc/17564384/Quran
It has a 4.7 positive review on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Message-Quran-Muhammad-Asad/...
The author was a Jew who converted to Islam. The earliest apparent publication is 1980. According to this passage at Wiki: "The English translation - Message of Quran - by Muhammad Asad contains fatal errors and flagrant false beliefs. As a result, the Constitutional Council of the Muslim World League in Mecca issued a decree banning the print and publication of this translation."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Asad
Where could I find a more suitable English-Arabic book on the Quran that contains fewer or no errors and no false beliefs? I thought this one was a good start, but apparently since it contains "errors and false beliefs" (whatever those may be) - I guess it isn't.
Any advice or other texts to point me in the right direction would help.
Thanks.

7 AnswersRamadan1 decade agoR&S: If God breathes life into people..?
..does that make them his surrogates, and
thus incapable of truly possessing free will?
I'm using the following definition for "free will": The power of making free choices that are unconstrained by external circumstances or by an agency such as fate or divine will.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/free+will
A surrogate is: a person or thing acting as a substitute.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/surrogate
A substitute being: to serve or cause to serve in place of another person or thing.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/substitute
This leaves us with: bodies we didn't choose, personalities (whatever you want to call them) we didn't choose, and a lot of propaganda about "free will" where none is granted by said God or where a lack of evidence exists to back up the assertion that God has given us "free will." If we can't choose to stop being the property of "God" without some unnecessary threat of punishment involved for doing so, this is a *limited will*, not a "free will."
